When providing safety coordination services to your workplace, we believe:

Knowledge is key to a culture of safety.  We educate the employees on safety matters for work, home and on the road.

  • Monthly safety newsletter for employees (Safe T Lines)
  • Safety articles for monthly publications
  • In-house safety posters each month
  • Weekly emails to employees (Got a Safety Second?)
  • Field Safety Resource Cards for field personnel
  • Safety Bulletin Boards

Safety training must be informative, efficient and interactive.  We deliver important safety trainings in an updated format each year; say good-bye to boring PowerPoint presentations.

  • Virtual Be Safe Meetings via email for in-house employees
  • Be Safe Meeting topics for supervisors of field crews
  • Annual Safety Training revised each year for fun learning
    • Safety Super Bowl
    • Bedtime Stories for the Cooperative
  • National Safety Council First Aid/CPR/AED courses by STAR’s certified trainer

Each safety event is an opportunity to learn.  Although we strive for zero accidents, we are prepared to manage and respond to unplanned events.

  • Safety Opportunity Program for “near-hits”
  • All events investigated for root cause – property damage, injury, etc.
  • Emergency Response Plan for incident team, complete with reference cards and response guides
  • Mayday drills and tabletop exercises
  • Life-size Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz to promote severe weather drills (for a little fun)

A system for safety must be established.  We provide complete coverage for the 8 components of a safety system: management, analysis, reporting, education, training/observation, inspection, event response and reviews.

  • All material in one binder for easy reference
  • Monthly safety reports for Board meetings
  • Key safety actions measured
  • State of Safety reports each year to summarize activities

Safe work practices must be understood and incorporated.  Staying current with regulations is vital to eliminating hazards in the workplace.

  • Expected safe work practices in written form
  • Basic safety rules
  • Written compliance plans
