“NOVA Power Portal™ streamlined the interconnection process and organized the many active and completed DER Applications Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative (MVEC) receives. There are many factors contributing to the success MVEC has had with NOVA Power Portal™. First, the Document Library allows MVEC to store relevant and up-to-date DER information in one place for internal and external reference. The process step tracking and timelines allow for increased accountability for both installers and MVEC and help to keep up with applications as they move from review to interconnection at different paces. “Before using NOVA Power Portal™, our application process was cumbersome at best. Using this system, everything is tracked in one place and is easy to account for. One small aspect was just handling the interconnection fee payments; the Stripe system that is incorporated with NOVA Power Portal™ has made that collection process a lot easier and convenient.
The system has been easy to navigate, and software updates have improved on a product that was already well worth having.
I like the fact that I can go into NOVA Power Portal™ and quickly look at pending projects to see where we are with the process, checking to see if the member has signed their contract or not, checking to see if documentation has been uploaded, etc.
The training sessions that have been provided have proven to be very beneficial.
The NOVA Power Portal™ software is a very streamlined format and is easy to use. With that being said, there are occasions when assistance is still needed to troubleshoot small issues (issues that are primarily due to our members having problems). The support team at STAR Energy Services has been extremely helpful in providing that assistance.
